The postcard was sent from Czech Rep but the sender complains about  high postgae fee in Czechia so he used the services of Austria Post. All postcard collectors must ask to their local Postal System  a special tariff to send a postcard! Albania and Romania already have that implemented!

2 Cards received from my dear friend Renata, in Vilnius, received them on 5 January 2026. Travel time unknown - as the postmark date for Vilnius is not readable.

 

 

 

 

Special Postcard Curtea de Arges Monastery - the episcopal palace covered with ivy.

 

 

On 8 November 2025 I made a visit to Curtea de Arges Monastery - and together with some friends (including Holger Kaufhold form Germany), we visited The Episcopal Palace who use to be the "Summer residence" for the Royal Family: Carol I and Queen Elisabeta - she was known also as writer" Carmen Sylva". The postcard above is important because all the ivy is now gone.

New Category of Postage for postcards in Romania! Cheaper than in the past!

 In 2025 was a super crazy year regarding sending postcards from Romania. In January 2025 to send a card from here - postage was 20 lei. We had a meetup with a special designed card (second photo) - in Bucharest. On 1st of February they decreased to 14 lei - also due the fact that I sent emails and postcards to (almost) everybody in decision roles in Romanian Post. I believe I am "guilty" somehow for the new tariff from 1 Jan 2026 of... 10 LEI (!!!!) and my actions had some echo! So - I believe in Romania it will happen a miracle: they will decrease the postage for postcards! (a friend of mine from New Zealand says was happened also there in July 2025 - so Romania is not the only one country doing that
