Burundi Postal Administration was created under the decree no. 100/021 of March 7th, 1991 and is operating since January 1st, 1992. Erected as a personalized administration and as a legal entity with autonomous management, Burundi Postal Administration is under the authority of the Minister of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications.

A Board of Directors, appointed upon proposal of the Minister, establishes the policy of the Postal Administration and decides on any issue submitted by the Management.

Bhutan Post Office and Mailbox

The Postal Service in Bhutan was first launched on 10th October 1962 with the opening of a post office in Phuentsholing. In the same year, post offices were also opened in Paro and Thimphu.

Bhutan became a member of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the body of the United Nations concerned with postal affairs, in 1969. Although Bhutan had already established mail exchange with a few other countries, it was the first time that its presence was felt at an international postal gathering. In 1983 Bhutan also became a member of the Asian Pacific Postal Union (APPU).

Until 1st October 1996, the Division of Posts and Telegraphs was a government body. However, as a part of the Royal Government's policy of granting autonomy to organizations, which have potential to operate independently, the Division of Posts and Telegraphs was converted to the status of an autonomous commercial corporation on 1st October 1996 under the trading name " Bhutan Post ".

Wiki: Modern Egyptian postal service began when Carlo Meratti, an Italian, living in Alexandria, established a post office to send and receive mail to and from foreign countries as early as 1821. Meratti took the responsibility of sending and distributing the letters for a price. He transferred his activity to Cairo and Alexandria through his office in Saint Catherine Square (formerly Qansal Square). After Meratti's departure his nephew, Tito Chini (who agreed with the importance of the project) succeeded his uncle with a friend, Giacomo Muzzi. The two partners upgraded the project, naming it the Posta Europea.

Khedive Ismaiel realized the importance of the Posta Europea and purchased it from Muzzi (after the departure of his partner, Tito Chini) on October 29, 1864. The Egyptian government offered Muzzi the position of general manager of the post and on January 2, 1865, the private Posta Europea was transferred to the Egyptian government. This date is noted as Post Day.

Nowadays: Ministerial Decree No. 70, in 1982, was a special regulation concerning Post Authority's personnel; Decree No. 55 that same year regulated the authority's finances. In 1999 the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology was established to supervise the National Post Authority, Egypt Telecom and the National Communications Institute.

Greece Mailbox & Post Office

Photos made by me during my trip in Greece - July 2017 (Crete Island -Hersonissos)

Hersonissos is 26 kilometres east of Heraklion, between Anissaras and Stalis.

Hersonissos has developed due to tourism and, in just a few decades, has grown into the largest tourist resort in Crete.

Hersonissos has about 3,000 permanent inhabitants (2,981 in the 2001 census), but this number increases exponentially each summer, with the thousands of seasonal workers in tourism, and of course the hundreds of thousands of tourists who come to Hersonissos on holiday.
